Changing HABits
ABOUT HAB
We are a planet conscious clothing brand that promotes sustainable fashion. Using organic and ethically sourced fibres, including organic cotton, hemp and different varieties, our aim is to slow fast fashion down as it is damaging our planet. Its impacts on climate change through landfill, waste and chemical pollution through the development of synthetic fabrics are not longer sustainable.
Our aim is to help us change our HABits by providing planet-free fashion options, our great range of products are biodegradable and sourced from eco fabrics that think ahead to make fibres that doesn’t damage our Mother Earth and also, our packaging is 100% compostable. We design and produce our own clothing so you can have great style and comfort for daily use knowing you are doing your part helping to save our planet.
We need you to get on board and change your HABits by taking the higher road on this journey.
The team at HAB
Australia has an addiction to fast fashion. Every year, Australians acquire on average 27 kilos of new clothing per person, chucking out 23 kilos each year. 800,000 tonnes of clothing and textiles are discarded by Australians each year, 90% of which ends up in landfill.
Chile has long been a hub of second-hand and unsold clothing, made in China or Bangladesh and passing through Europe, Asia, United States and Australia before arriving in Chile, where it is resold around Latin America.
Some 59,000 tonnes of clothing arrive each year at the Iquique port in the Alto Hospicio free zone in northern Chile.
Clothing merchants from the capital Santiago, 1,800km (1,100 miles) to the south, buy some, while much is smuggled out to other Latin American countries. But at least 39,000 tonnes that cannot be sold end up in rubbish dumps in the desert.
Our planet has provided us with an abundance of natural resources. But we have not utilised them responsibly and currently consume far beyond what our planet can provide. We must learn how to use and produce in sustainable ways that will reverse the harm that we have inflicted on the planet.
CHANGING HABITS, YOU CAN ALSO MAKE THE DIFFERENCE.
